Kadinsky and his ability to seamlessly link opposing shapes
Studio Loci have recently begun concept work on a sensory landscape for a new Hospice in Christchurch. We are currently in the process of abstracting ideas of an estuarine environment (Christchurch is geographically positioned adjacent to the lagoon and estuary of The River Avon and Stour). Our aim is not a literal recreation of this environment but to use it as a guideline for the layout, materiality, patterning, and planting of the project. We are aiming to combine this initial concept with Kadinsky and his ability to seamlessly link opposing shapes; we anticipate the curved lines representing nature and the estuary and hard lines representing the manmade structures of moorings and ships.
